Canes Win!

I'll admit I'm pretty much a bandwagon fan... I didn't really watch any of the games during the season, or even the first two rounds of the playoffs. But I did keep up with them through the news, and being a sports fan, it's quite easy to get addicted, especially to the local team. To have the Stanley Cup in Raleigh, to see a victory parade for a professional sport champion here, to hear the national broadcasters express shock at how crazy our fans are... it's all pretty awesome.

In other news...

Hard to believe this meteorology project is wrapping up. We're actually having a meeting tomorrow to discuss what will be the best way to use our time the last four days. Of course, that just means the summer is flying by...

I received an AMS Undergraduate Scholarship, which is pretty darn cool since this is on a national level. The funny part is my "sponsor" is named Matthew Parker, the exact same name as the professor I'm working for this summer.

The Steelers are having their share of offseason problems. First Big Ben nearly killing himself in a motorcycle wreck, then first round draft pick Santonio Holmes getting arrested twice (first time was basically for glorified jaywalking, the most recent being for domestic violence). Hopefully everything will calm down by training camp (which I may be attending!!).

It's amazing how boring things are when there's no hockey game and there's absolutely nothing else on all 77 cable channels...
