Almost Half Over

It's hard to believe after next week first semester will be half over. It's Friday night and I'm bored and not wanting to do any work, so this seemed like an appropriate thing to do. Let's see what I can remember since the last post.

I didn't get the undergrad research job with Dr. Parker, which might be a good thing considering all the work I'm having to do. I haven't heard for sure who got it, but I have a feeling the person who did was much more qualified than me. There's another possibility on the table from Dr. Yuter's colleague, but I haven't heard anything more on that.

I'm traveling to a different time zone for the first time in my life in January! Since I was a scholarship recipient, I get to go to the AMS Conference in San Antonio for free! That's a good thing too.... really expensive. I'm hoping that it will be a good time, and that a lot of my friends will be able to go. Maybe I can make a few contacts too.

After two super crazy weeks in September, the last two have been a little more tranquil. However, I am taking the GRE's next Thursday and need to prepare for those. Plus I have a project in each of my meteorology classes that I need to be thinking about and working on. Then there's grad schools to be reading up on and trying to woo advisors, plus all the piddly weekly work. I also have three tests in mid-late October. It's never ending. Can't wait for Christmas!

So I have a lot on my mind. But that's just me... always analyzing the past, present, and future... wondering about things. Guess that's the counteraction for not being a big talker haha. It's all good though, and I just go with the flow. I do think I've become somewhat of a hypochondriac, with the on and off stomach problems and the chronic cough. Maybe someone can figure something out by the end of the year haha.

Oh, a little football news and then I'll wrap this up. Halifax Comets look more rounded this year and posted a 5-0 record going into tonight's action against Bassett. The score was allegedly 10-0 at halftime, and I expect a win. The big test will be next week against GW, probably the main district foe this year. I have every intention on being there. Daniel Evans seems to have saved the Wolfpack's season... "ICE!" I hope he and they can keep it up after big wins over BC and Florida State. For a change, the Steelers now look the iffiest. Hopefully they can get things turned around Sunday against San Diego, and the offense can get on track.

OK I think that's enough. I'm sure plenty will happen before the next time I post!
