End of Another Semester

Hopefully I have now finished all classes for my graduate school career. NWP didn't end too badly, just a 10-page paper and a presentation. I'm glad this semester is over, because the classes were generally more time consuming than useful, and I also wasn't very productive on my research. So here's hoping things pick up in the New Year.

I head home tomorrow for a generous vacation, but I'm hoping I can get a little work done in the down times. I'm looking forward to being able to relax and spend some time with my family and friends. I guess I can officially say now that I am headed to New York City for New Years to have a reunion of sorts with Casey and Kristin. We aren't stupid enough to do the Times Square thing, but we are smart enough to figure out how to have an awesome time. I'm definitely excited!

To continue with the theme from previous posts, I guess most people at this point know that Utah went undefeated and is playing Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. I personally don't care for the BCS system, but what are you going to do. If the Utes can play Alabama like they played BYU (a top-20 team mind you), then I think they can make a game of it. Offensive production will be critical, because Bama will put up points. Here's a Youtube video of the mayhem at the end of the BYU game (last game of the year). Even though I couldn't be a part of it, I'm glad that it's at least "my team" and that the win and excitement is really cool, even though the fans did "false start." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyu_2Ejv0C0

On another sports note, GO PACK! It felt good to see NC State dominate their last four opponents of the football season. Now we have to hope that they get better ingredients, better pizza, and a win against Rutgers at the Papa John's bowl!

Merry Christmas!
